SMA/ECC SR-99 Bridge Honored as Top 5 by ASCE

The shape memory alloy and engineered cementitious composite research that Prof. Saiidi pioneered and pursued over the past two decades and his cooperation with the Washington State Department of Transportation in design, specification preparation, and implementation of the technology in SR-99 Off-Ramp Bridge in Seattle led to selection of the project for the ASCE Honor of one of the Top Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievements for 2018.  Read more…

 

SR-99 Journal Paper Receives the Prestressed Concrete Institute Robert J. Lyman Award

The paper received special commendation for advancement of the construction, production, and erection of precast and prestressed concrete.  The authors: T. Baker, M. Saiidi, B. Nakashoji, J. Bingle, T. Moore, and B. Khaleghi will be recognized in October at the PCI annual meeting in Chicago, Illinois.

SMA/ECC SR-99 Bridge Receives Outstanding Bridge Research Achievement at the International Bridge Conference

The innovative columns utilizing shape memory alloy and engineered cementitious composite developed and investigated by Prof. Saiidi and implemented in SR-99 Off-Ramp Bridge in Seattle by the Washington State Department of Transportation received the Bridge Research Award for its outstanding achievement at the International Bridge Conference in Maryland on June 11, 2019.
