News: Sarira wins First Place James D. Cooper Student Award

Dear Visitor:

Welcome to our website!  Highlights of a research project on accelerated bridge construction using energy dissipating segmental columns subjected to earthquakes are presented on this site.  The study is funded by Caltrans through grant No. 59A0591 However, the material and opinions presented on this site are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of Caltrans.  Special thanks are due Dr. Li-Hong Sheng, the Caltrans Research Program Manager, for his support and advice.  Dr. Saad El-Azazy and Dr. Jim Gutierrez of Caltrans are thanked for their interest and involvement in different aspects of the project.  The research team is indebted to several individuals for generously donating materials that were used in the study:  Messrs.
